At the core of my work is a simple mission: to share what I've learned on my journey toward finding and maintaining a balanced life so others can do the same.
I spent years learning how to achieve balance while experiencing a dramatic personal transformation. I found tools to fight a 20+ year battle with depression and insomnia; discovering the power of mindfulness, a reasonable approach to wellness and mental health, and the mindful magic of baking and cooking. Now I'm on a mission to share these tools with others, helping people discover what works best for them on their own journey to balance.
I am the founder of Balance and Rise, a website dedicated to helping people find balance at home and at work. Through a mix of mindfulness, mental health practices, reasonable wellness (balanced food and movement), and a people-first leadership approach, my blog and private services help individuals achieve small, intentional steps towards a more balanced life.
I also serve as the COO of
KidGlov, a marketing agency that helps nonprofits and purpose-driven businesses amplify their impact. At KidGlov, I take a people-first approach to process and operations. I use many of the same tools to help my team find a balanced approach to work; one that creates more focus and joy in the work itself, ultimately leading to exceptional quality and productivity. I do the same for KidGlov's clients, creating balanced marketing strategies that blend powerful discernment with tactics that work.
I am an avid home baker, cook, and a certified yoga and meditation teacher. I founded PLAY, Lincoln, NE's largest community yoga event, which is celebrating its 11th year. I'm also an award-winning marketer (Marketing Hall of Fame, Marketer of the Year, Lincoln's Inspire Women's Leadership Award), a passionate community volunteer, and a lover of all things movement—whether it's yoga, running, or Pelotoning. I enjoy living in the "suburban country" with my husband (aka partner in crime) Kirk and rescue dog (aka my favorite running partner) Mollie.
